Community heroes take centre stage

Brick Lane Music Hall has been host to a series of inspirational events over recent weeks showcasing initiatives across the borough, supporting and celebrating the work of some of the many local heroes we are lucky enough to have in our community.

The annual benefit night for Newham Youth organisation Ambition, Aspire, Achieve, was held at the end of April. “Vincent Hayes MBE and his cast delivered a brilliant show, and the Music Hall team once again hosted a fantastic evening. Thanks to your generosity, through ticket sales, the raffle, auction and donations, we raised just over £19,000. This makes it our most successful Music Hall fundraiser to date, raising vital funds that will make a real difference to our work with children and young people this year.” Jonny Boux, Ambition, Aspire, Achieve

In May Brick Lane Music Hall were proud hosts of the Annual Awards Ceremony for Newham Foster Carers. This is part of the Foster Carers Fortnight, recognising the amazing contribution to the community of those who open their hearts and homes to children across the borough.

Most recently, Brick Lane Music Hall hosted the National All Stars Skills Academy annual fundraising dinner. Founded by Natasha Hart, NASSA provides extra-curricular school training clubs and summer scheme, a Saturday Academy, a High Flyers Developmental Programme, a volunteer programme, opportunities to gain coaching qualifications and NVQs, holiday clubs and outreach work in local parks.
