Our outreach team of Brick Lane Music Hall regulars, Andrew Robley, Lucy Reed and Musical Director, Martin Layzell, had a trip to Streatham to perform in the gardens of the historic Woodlawns Centre, home to the first ever Darby and Joan Club in Britain back in 1942 and now the last remaining independently run older people’s day centre in the London Borough of Lambeth. Still going strong after all these years, the aim of the centre is to bring together the older members of the community “as a vital way of overcoming social isolation”.

With a lively crowd and the weather being kind, a great time was had by all. Speaking of our last show at the centre, the organisers told us:
